New this year, abstracts describing innovative Trials in Progress (TiPs; i.e., trials that have not reached the primary endpoint) will be presented at this year’s ASH annual meeting. TiP abstracts are expected to provide investigators with opportunities to discuss planned and ongoing clinical trials; enabling translational researchers, clinical and industry investigators, statisticians, and regulators to become informed about these clinical trials and to allow for early engagement and collaboration, as appropriate. In addition, this platform will help increase the visibility of ongoing clinical trials, and ultimately facilitate patient recruitment.
The ASH Working Group on Innovations in Clinical Trials developed the submission criteria and review criteria for abstracts describing innovative TiPs, and they were recruited via the Call for Abstracts. Nearly 250 TiPs will be presented throughout the meeting — more than 25 oral presentations and just over 200 posters. TiPs chosen for poster presentations are intermixed in the Poster Hall with the regular abstracts in the same field. These posters are designated as TiPs by signs mounted above each poster board.
